I saw that other youtubers (big names) were talking with them and so I figured I’d take a shot. So I fired off this tweet:

Fairly soon after that I got this tweet from them!

 

I was FLOORED. Firstly I never expected them to see it as they are gaining followers quickly. Secondly I figured if they did there would be no way they would help out little old me! I expected a “Well go register here for the closed beta” message at best. Infernum (the company distributing the game) did me one better. Not only did I receive a beta key but I received some for my Youtube community as well!

It’s awesome to see a game company GET social media. Mojang and others have proven that if you can get a solid community using your game and talking about it then you just may have something. I am very impressed with Infernum and how they are already handling their social media. Not only do they retweet pretty much everything anyone says about the game (which helps EVERYONE involved) but they are snappy at answering questions.

They also seem interested in ideas too! I received a tweet from them asking me what I thought about the game and what I thought could be improvements (They favorited my reply about having the block tool replace other blocks so I hope to see that ;) *nudge nudge Infernum*) This attitude is refreshing to see in any company let alone a gaming company! I hope others will see it and take note!

In lieu of a post about the game itself I will be uploading a review video soon and embedding here and will be posting different gameplay videos on Youtube coming soon! Until then be sure to go and register for the closed beta…trust me–You want in on the ground floor of this baby!

At the time I was registered under the username Hoshea21 but that was confusing (also I had already turned 22). I remember that night was a crazy one. Brent Copeland and Minecraftchick were in the skype call along with what I’m sure were Teddanator, Chrisw2k5, Bitburner and Alefnull. I was probably a little starstruck at the time but I remember taking a breaking from Minecraft (I think we may have been spleefing) and registering my new username. I applied for partnership soon after that and was denied. I regrouped and refocused my efforts on better quality and sub growth. I reapplied in the set time and roughly 20 hours later I got the thumbs up from Youtube. I stared at my computer for about 5 minutes and then told my fiance (now my wife) the news. We were both very excited. Over that time my channel has grown to a little over 9,000 subs!! I never thought I’d have 200 subs…let alone 9,000. This has been a crazy ride and I expect it to get even crazier! Please, continue to be as awesome as you have been! You guys seriously are the best!

I am in the market to buy a gaming PC. This rig would go a long way towards helping my videos be even better! All the skips and creeps I get with MC should more than go away, and I should be able to play/record/upload way more games! I’ve been on a Mac this whole time and it’s time to move into the world of windows! I haven’t totally picked all the parts yet but i’m not going crazy, just need something that can work and grow!
